Set of modified Reitz made M40 service blouse and breeches for use by a Heer Artillerie Oberleutnant, standard issue blouse stamped with Reitz maker and size information, chest size 102, depot marking appears to be H.40, with four pleated patch pockets and adjustable cuffs, sleeves were slightly shortenend, narrow shoulder strap bridles for the slip on shoulder boards were installed and at some point, the upper pockets appear to have been replaced as they are of a slightly contrasting fabric and the application stitching penetrates the lining – this was absolutely period done, officer’s bullion collar patches are hand sewn as is the flatwire national emblem, the slip on shoulder boards each have one large gilt rank pip, lower left sleeve has an Afrika with palms machine embroidered sleeveband sewn to to the sleeve via hand stitching through the borders of the insignia, bandage pocket and cuff buttons are black plastic, collar liner buttons are removed, matching painted metal pebbled buttons have most of their paint, includes EKII ribbon in buttonhole and loops for three breast badges, a bakelite whistle with its cord is attached to one of the buttons, included are privately made breeches of field quality wool with two slash hip pockets, a watch pocket and one buttoned hip pocket, with adjustable hip straps and buckles, buttoned fly with closure hook, inner waistband is of grey cotton, pocket bags of rayon, black laced calves, set is in excellent condition and little wear is seen, there are two or three pinhead size moth holes to the blouse, breeches have slight nap wear,
