During World War II, it was forbidden to send parcels from Germany to countries at war for example England. Correspondence took place through neutral countries where there were so-called secret addresses intermediating in correspondence from the territories of Germany – eg the General Government to England. The presented card is sent from Warsaw as registered card to a secret address in Lisboa Rue Alexandre Herkulano. German censorship checked the page for any texts written with invisible ink.
