Summer 2022 Militaria Auction
Lot 352:
Postschutz Postal Protection EM/NCO Nickel Silver Belt Buckle.
This is a very nice Pre-WWII German Postschutz Postal Protection Organization EM/NCO Belt Buckle (Koppelschloß).It is a nice all nickel silver stamped construction box buckle with a pebbled background.
The front of the buckle has a very nice stamped Postschutz Logo: a high relief, embossed Postal eagle with flared wings, clutching a signal horn with lightning bolts. The buckle is in very good condition, with the pebbling in good condition, and most of the detail still present.
There is no maker mark on the buckle, but these were produced in small numbers before the war, so that is typical.
Overall a very nice example of a hard to find WWII German Belt buckle.
The Postschutz (Postal Protection) organization was established in March 1933 as a uniformed organization tasked with the security of the national postal and telecommunications systems. Personnel were mainly recruited from the Polizei, the SA, and the SS. The Postschutz was controlled and administered by the Postmaster General’s Office, until March 1942, when it became subordinate to the Allgemeine SS.
Excellent early nickel example. Non-magnetic, unmarked, with pebbled texture.
