It contains the following content: Page 1: Order No. 999 (order issued by the Red Army command). To the unit commanders. The War Council of the Army orders: under penalty of personal responsibility of the unit commander, provide each soldier on the front line with a supply of vodka. Spend vodka before the attack. September 5, 1941. Page 2: Wives and mothers of commanders and soldiers of the Red Army! Is it not baseness to give a man water to drink, so that he, bewildered, will go into battle to certain death? This is how the command of the Red Army behaves with your husbands, sons on the front line. Read the order on the second page and you will understand its meaning. Tell your loved ones not to believe the lies of Stalinist propaganda, not to follow false orders. We’re close. We bring freedom from Stalinist oppression.
