Very rare German passport issued in 1940 to a German Jew called Bernhard Israel Goldschmidt, who lived in Hannover. This passport is interesting not only for having the red ink stamped "J" to identify him as a Jew within the III Reich or the imposed name of Israel as second name, but also because it has plenty of visas and entries and amongst them some very rare from the Japanese puppet state of Manchukuo in China. It also has some ink stamps of the consulate of Manchukuo in Hamburg. Also visas of travels to the United States. It comes with photo of the owner.Manchukuo, officially the State of Manchuria prior to 1934 and the Empire of (Great) Manchuria after 1934, was a puppet state of the Empire of Japan in Manchuria from 1932 until 1945. It was founded as a republic in 1932 after the Japanese invasion of Manchuria, and in 1934 it became a constitutional monarchy under the de facto control of Japan. It had limited international recognition.
