Lot 1877:
Nice hand made leather wallet of a Finnish soldier with the legend "Suomi 1939-1940". This was made by a craftsman, most probably from Finland, for a Finnish soldier who fought during WW2 in the northern front in Finland against the Soviets. This wallet is in perfect condition and it shows engraved in the leather some soldiers fighting and the commented text. It was very common that soldiers got this kind of items made by craftsmen of the different countries they were fighting in. Finnish army, small but very brave, was one of the few armies that fought for Russians and Germans during WW2, but that finally defeated both powerful armies and won their independence. **** Important**** Shipping from our office in Europe.
