Lot 660:
Nice set of promotion documents belonging to a Gestapo detective named Josef Eggersdorfer. The most interesting piece in the set is the document dated 31 January 1938 from Reinhard Heydrich to Eggersdorfer which reads, “I have on behalf of the Führer and Reich Chancellor by the attached certificate of appointment in effect from January 1, 1938 onwards appoint you senior detective assistant and I give you a vacancy as a senior detective assistant at the State Police Headquarters from the date mentioned.” The document is signed at the bottom by Heydrich in black fountain pen ink. There are two other war-time promotion documents with this set as well as a post-war memo to Eggersdorfer regarding a job application he submitted in 1948 for work as a Bavarian State Border Policeman.
