The pound donation , more rarely also called the pound collection , was a natural donation of non-perishable foods such as pasta, peas, sugar or canned goods packaged in bags. During the Nazi era, helpers from the Winter Relief Organization collected the donations, put them together into food packages and distributed them to those in need.
