An original arrest document from the SD (Sicherheitsdienst) of Jewish woman Janka Kleinberger. This document was completed by the SD member upon arrest. Janka Kleinberger was born on April 5, 1916 in Budapest and ended up in the Netherlands with her parents. They lived during the war in Amsterdam at 25 Nicolaas Beetsstraat.

Janka worked as a housekeeper before the war and as a servant for the Jewish Council during the war. Her father, Juda Kleinberger and mother, Jochwet Kleinberger-Blaugrund were both already murdered on April 20, 1941 in the Mauthausen concentration camp. Janka was arrested on July 3, 1944 in the city of Haarlem and taken to the house of detention.

Finally, Janka was deported on the last transport from transit camp Westerbork to Auschwitz on the same train as Anne Frank and her family and she died on October 1, 1944.

We found this in Arolsen Archive, as it says 3-9-1944 on her administration card.

On her arrest document is the signature CB, this is from the Dutch SD member Berendsen who worked for the SD Aussenstelle Arnheim during the war, among other things. CB (Berendsen) was part of the Sonderkommando of the Sicherheitsdienst. Source regarding Berendsen: https://www.oorloginnijmegen.nl/images/PDF/Aussenstelle_Arnhem_schets_v0100.pdf

"About SS-Hauptsturmführer Walter Becker, Olivier recounts, "Becker could hit it pretty hard during interrogations." He was leader of the Sonderkommando which included Kuypers, Berendsen, Post and Grin. The Sonderkommando had its own building at 36 Sonsbeeksingel. Olivier continues with: "He was intensely mean and suspicious, and, according to him, had deleted ‘pity’ from his vocabulary.”
