March 2022 Auction Day 1
Lot 206:
Excellent example of mint condition Spanish wounded medal also called Sufrimiento por la Patria (Suffering for the fatherland) in its original case of issue. This one is the version for foreigners issued to all those soldiers who fought on Franco’s National army’s side during Spanish Civil War from 1936 to 1939. These were awarded to German Legion Condor members, Italian CTV volunteers, Portuguese Viriatos, etc. Medal has a very nice silver patina and original ribbon of issue as well as the beautiful silver coloured brooch with floral motifs. The case is a cardboard case with the Egana manufacturer ink stamp inside. Case is very old and therefore corners are unglued but can easily be repaired. These medals were only manufactured by Egaña industries.**************This article is sent from our office in Europe***************
