US M-1 Combat Helmet the 3rd Armored Division

The 3rd Armored Division (also known as "Spearhead", 3rd Armored, and 3AD) was an armored division of the United States Army. Unofficially nicknamed the "Third Herd, " the division was first activated in 1941 and was active in the European Theater of World War II.

A unique US M-1 fixed bale front seam 3rd Armored Division (SPEARHEAD) combat helmet.

The helmets exterior features a coat of OD green paint applied over the factory finish.

It retains the (SPEARHEAD) and Armored Division emblems on each side.

The helmet retains its factory web chinstraps.

Soiled stell hardware still in place and fully functional.

The interior shell is and serial numbered
860A.

The liner is correct “high pressure” WWII issue .

Other correct WWII features include cotton OD Green #3 herringbone twill (HBT) cloth suspension liner, with the webbing in solid condition with light wear. This HBT suspension is held within the M-1 helmet liner by rivets and a series of triangular "A" washers, and the three upper suspension bands are joined together with the correct OD green string. This way the wearer could adjust the fit.
