Adolf Hitler Bust by Schmidt Hofer. Nice example of a wartime produced Hitler bust by Schmidt-Hofer. It’s good sized, measuring about 15” tall including the original base and weighs around 21 pounds. These wartime examples are typically made with alloy and painted with a metallic finish, as opposed to prewar busts made with real bronze. It’s difficult to find all original and complete alloy-made busts from this period since the metal is fragile and easily breaks away from the marble base.
