Gebirgsjaeger (Mountain Troops) Officer Schirmmutze Visor Hat
Constructed of a high quality field-grey tricut wool, this privately purchased visor features a single piece "saddled" crown encircled by hellgrun waffenfarbe piping.
To the peak of the saddle, there is a eagle are hand-embroidered with aluminum thread, clutching an oak-leaf wreath.
Below is a multi-piece body stitched to a blueish green cloth band encircled top and bottom by additional hellgrun waffenfarbe.
To the centre of the the band is a silver washed, boullion oak-leaf wreath surrounding a tri-colour colour boullion cockade.
The band is flanked by two small silver washed pebbled buttons that secure the silver ribbed chin cord.
Extending from the band is a black vulcanfibre visor with raised lip.
To the interior, the cap is lined in golden brown rayon.
A celluloid sweat shield features the
Holters-Uniformen BERLIN W50 maker markings.
The sweatband is in great condition. Embossed:

Cap remains in excellent condition and displays a level of period light wear that adds an element of character rarely found.
