NCO/Officer’s "Crusher" Mountain Troops Visor Hat.
Visor caps were a standard issue item for all personnel during the Third Reich period and regulations dictated the form of dress they were to be worn with based on the individuals rank. Officer and senior NCO ranks could purchase their caps from the army clothing depots but were also permitted to wear privately purchased visor caps of higher quality.
Alter Art-style Wehrmacht mountain troops visor hat, Gebirgsjager.
Constructed from field-grey wool construction body and crown, with a darker green band, green waffenfarbe piping (for artillery/assault gunner usage), and a pair stitched eagle and wreath/cockade patches on the front.
On the left side there is a badge (mountain ice ax and edelweiss) with dimensions of 3.5 x 2.5 cm.
The visor is finished black on top and the underside.

The interior of the cap also has a wide, natural gray leather sweatband with the manufacturer’s name embossed:

A regulation in 1942 forbade the popular crusher cap from being worn because ofthe missing cords.
