Iron Cross 1st Class, 1939 (Eisernes Kreuz I Klasse)

Die struck magnetic construction Patté style cross.

Obverse of award features an embossed central canted swastika and re-institution date, "
1939", to bottom arm.

Both swastika and date are barely seen.

Plain reverse.

Solid soldered hinge and heavy soldered catch.

No pin.

Iron Cross 2nd Class, 1939 "25" (Eisernes Kreuz II Klasse)1939 pattern, die struck, three piece, iron and alloy construction Pattée style cross with a single piece iron core and a two piece alloy frame.

The obverse features an embossed, high relief, central, canted, swastika with the re-institution date, "
1939", to the bottom arm. The reverse bottom arm has the embossed original institution date, "
1813".

The medal loop and ribbon suspension ring are both intact.

Marked with the stamped, manufacturer’s numerical code, "
25", indicating manufacture by
Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Graveur-, Gold- und Silberschmiede-Innungen, Hanau am Main.

Dug from the ground in the battlefield. Pre-cleaned of soil and dirt.
