Dutch Volunteer Legion Waffen SS recruitment brochure/ poster ‘Dat’s ‘n leven van stavast’. This is a beautiful and rare specimen of a so-called Dutch recruitment brochure for the Dutch Volunteer Legion or the Dutch SS – ‘Dat’s ‘n leven van stavast’. These brochures were put at disposal in several recruitment offices in Den Haag (The Hague) and Amsterdam. The brochure gives the applicant a good impression of how life would be in the Legion, with every day a good and fresh meal, lots of exercise , their daily life, military scenes, comradeship, training, etc. All direct propaganda to invite young Dutch boys to join the Waffen SS. It measures 12 cm x 21.5 cm (folded) and 48.5 cm x 38 cm (unfolded). It is in used condition – there are punch holes and a few tears where it folds.
