Heinrich Bleichrodt (born October 21, 1909, died January 9, 1977) – German naval officer, korvettenkapitän, commander of German submarines U-48, U-67 and U-109 during World War II. During the Battle of the Atlantic, he sank 24 ships with a total tonnage of 151,260 GRT and the sloop HMS Dundee. After the capitulation of the Third Reich, he was imprisoned and released on September 25, 1945.On October 24, 1940, he was awarded the Knight’s Cross as the 41st in the Kriegsmarine and 18th in the U-Boot-Waffe, on September 23, 1942 – as the 125th in the Wehrmacht, 17th in the Kriegsmarine and 15th in the U-Boot-Waffe – with the Oak Leaves.A special lettercard of the Field Mail printed during the Second World War.All items for this auction will be shipping from Europe.
