1923 Putsch Medallion

This is an extremely rare medallion that was distributed to those who were involved in the beer-hall Putsch of November 9, 1923, when Hitler led his followers from the Burgerbraukeller to the Feldherrenhalle, where they were met by police and Reichwehr troops who opened fire upon them killing 16 of the faithful.

This is a medal that commemorated the staging of the Commemorative March in 1933, 10 years after the sacred event.

The obverse of the medal has a depiction of the Ewege Flame, (the eternal flame) with the words from the funeral march of the German military around it: “
Bleib du im Ew’gen Leben mein Guter Kamerad, ” which means “Live you in eternal life my good comrade!”

On the reverse is shown the German eagle with the swastika halo superimposed over the Feldherrenhalle with the dates
9. Nov.1932-1933, and below this the figure of a helmeted German soldier, who reposes with the Blutfahne (blood flag) furled beneath his lifeless body.

This is rare and very historically important to NSDAP lore.
