Flak 88mm Cannon – a Toy
Dimensions: The gun 28.5 x 28 x 10 cm, with carts, 38.5 cm long.
8.8 cm Flak 18 (colloquially eighty eight) – German anti-aircraft and anti-tank gun from the Second World War. It is one of the most famous guns from this period. Several versions of this gun were produced: the 8.8 cm Flak 18, 36, 37 and 37/41, as well as a newer design of this caliber – the 8.8 cm Flak 41.
"Flak" is an abbreviation in German of the words "Flugabwehrkanone" (or "Fliegerabwehrkanone") – anti-aircraft gun, as this was the original purpose of this weapon. In the German army, they were popularly known as "Acht-Acht" (eight-eight), short for Acht-Komma-Acht Zentimeter (eight point eight centimeters).
