Lot 409:
Memorial stick – 1941 shooting award.
Ciupaga is a type of ax – a traditional weapon of Polish highlanders.
The subject of the auction is a cane that looks like ciupaga-highlanders made such canes for tourists in Zakopane.
During the war, Zakopane housed a sanatorium for German soldiers – Poles and Highlanders were allowed to stay there only as guest-house workers.
This chick had to be a prize in a shooting competition organized by German soldiers.
